Red Meat for Babies?

I need to start feeding DD red meat, her iron is low :(  I can't figure out how to though, she won't do purees I make (she's anti - spoon) and only has two teeth. Ideas? Recipes? TIA!

Re: Red Meat for Babies?

  • Ground beef crumbles?  Abby has always had a texture aversion to meat though.  The best way I've fond to get it in her is spaghetti with meat sauce--she'll CHOW down.  Good luck!

  • OMG, I can't believe I didn't even think of ground beef.  LOL.  We NEVER have red meat at home (we only eat it out if we're at a nice resturaunt).  That's how OOTL I am with red meat.  Thanks!
  • Definitely try ground beef - you could also try some shredded like a pot roast cooked really well and finely shredded up.  That gets pretty nice and tender.

  • DH made a pot roast inteh crock pot. it got very soft. we then pureed teh meat with the veggies and DS loved it.  i think the potatoes, carrots and onions masked the meat-ness.
