I use a simple 7mp cannon sd750 that takes great pix and a 10mp olympus sp570uz which has a lot more features and settings. I'm thinking of a digital slr, but shy away due to the bulk. If you use one, do you use it a lot? Do you carry it around with you?
Re: Do you use a point-and-shoot or slr?
i have a DSLR (cannon rebel sx) and a nikon coolpix P&S. i usually use my dslr.
oops...forgot to answer the question. yes i carry around everywhere (usually in the undercarrage of my stroller or slung around my body). i look super touristy, but oh well.

I have a Canon EOS 40D DSLR, and yes, it's kind of bulky, but so worth it to capture the photos I want, IMO. I also have a Canon Powershot SD 770 digital elph, which I always keep in the diaper bag or in my purse just in case I need it and the DSLR isn't handy. I hate to be without a camera!
The little camera serves a good purpose, and I liked it well enough before I got my DSLR. It takes decent photos, plus it shoots short videos, which I like to use to capture quick moments in baby's life. But I'm using the DSLR 99% of the time these days.
