I do not drink them because I was always annoyed as a server when someone would order them....I just splashed grenadine into 7up or sprite I think some put a splash of sweet and sour in them as well.
In restraunts and bars they use 7up because they don't have ginger ale. Jennybeams has listed traditional recipie.
Incorrect. I am a bartender and have never worked in a bar without gingerale. How could you make a jack and ginger or a VO press without it? Not to mention a TON of other drinks.
THe correct recipe is grenadine and gingerale. Try a Roy Rogers with coke and grenadine also
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I've never had, seen, or heard of a shirley temple being made with anything but sprite/7up and grenadine, and I've been ordering them in restaurants since I was 3 and worked as a waitress/bartender in several restaurants for 8 years. Maybe it's a regional thing?
In college I went someplace and wanted a ST, but there was a one drink minimum, so I said can you make it alcoholic.
They added vodka and my fave drink the Ambassador Shirley Temple Black (little ST grown up) was born. At the bar I worked at they had it in the register as a "Mel" because I drank them so often.
I love them. I ordered one on Saturday and the waitress looked at me kinda funny, then didn't put a cherry in it. Once I got my cherry though, it made my night.

YUMMY!
I love them! And yes I do! They make them with 7UP/Sprite and Grenadine! They are really refreshing during the pregnancy!
