if your DC crib was recalled

I got an email from TRU/BRU about the crib I bought has been recalled. It's the Jardine cribs if you wanted to know which ones.?

?It says to stop using the crib immediately, did you really stop using it until you returned it? I am just curious where DS will sleep, he can sleep in our bed, as he sometimes does. DS still actually sleeps in the crib, we haven't converted the crib yet since he is sleeping fine & hasn't tried to climb out yet. So did you still get another convertible crib or did you get something else? Just curious what others have done. Thanks

    I was just wondering this exact thing. I got the same email and also have a Jardine crib. It's been fine for the year and a half we've had it, but the "stop immediately" made me wonder too. I'm thinking this might be a good time to transition her to a big bed anyways rather than get her used to sleeping in some temporary sleep arrangement, then put her in a new crib only to move her in a few months to a bed. It's a pain since you won't get the voucher until after you've sent in the crib parts. She has not tried to climb out yet, but I know she sleeps fine when she sleeps alone on our bed or even on the floor on the makeshift "bed" we have for her in our room for when she wakes up too stinkin early. Hopefully that means she'll take to a bed of her own just as well.

  • Our Jardine crib was recalled last summer, when #2 was 7 months old and definitely still needed a crib. ?We didn't stop using it until we got the new crib in. ?I went ahead and requested the information packet from Jardine just so I'd know what the process was to get the voucher, but then I just ordered a new crib (not Jardine) from BRU and waited for that to come in. ?Then we just disassembled the old crib and put the new one up. ?I sent the bolts and stuff into Jardine, and a few weeks later they sent me the voucher. ?BRU gave me a refund in the amount of the voucher.

    I did check with my BRU to make sure this would work, but I know that a lot of other people did the same thing.?
