My mom goes to a salvation army near Pittsburgh where all the rich people drop their stuff and has found me quite a few maternity pieces there. Shorts, capri's, etc... most of them with the tags still on.
I'm normally not a garage sale shopper but went with some friends the other day and got a ton of clothes- about 3-4 pairs of jeans, about 6 shirts, & some shorts all for $15!!! Most of them still had tags on them! Otherwise Gordman's and TJMax have had some good finds. I live next to a Motherhood outlet so I'm fortunate.

I'll admit it... I love Old Navy. I am a chubby gal and short, to boot, and their clothing always fits right and I can find things that I wouldn't find anywhere else.

Not trashy at all, I bet there is loads of good stuff!
Clearly your definition of cute and my definition are VASTLY different.?
Not the cutest out there, but I was sticking to budget friendly.
I don't think that budget friendly and cute can exist together when it comes to maternity clothes. At least not in my recent experience. I have had more luck with Banana Republic than anywhere else.?
I went to the outlet mall- Banana Republic and Calvin Klein had GREAT sales and the styles were all stretchy with room to spare in the belly area. I bought them out in medium and large sizes so I could wear through the summer, and then went to Gap for some of the "favorite" t-shirts so all I had left to worry about was maternity pants.

It is true! Either you spend the bucks or you look so-so while pregnant.

Actually Target does have the cutest maternity clothes. Cute dresses and tops and they are VERY budget friendly.

Kohl's (especially the sale rack) -- kind of hit or miss but you can pick up some decent staples. ON for casual staples like t-shirts and tanks Target (also good for tanks) Consignment stores or 2nd hand places Check around to see if you have any maternity outlets nearby. We're pretty lucky here and have a Maternity Works outlet where I've managed to find some cute stuff that isn't a fortune.
Have you checked eBay? I don't know if you would find anything there but it's worth a shot.
I'm not to this point yet but my MIL got me a pretty cute maternity tank and it's from Kohls. I didn't wear a lot of maternity shirts when I was pregnant with my son because I found quite a few regular shirts that worked. I got my maternity jeans at Gap though but they'll be too big this time around. That's what I'm worried about most... jeans!
I have been getting my basics (pants) from stores like target, old navy, and gap. No one knows where your black trouser pants came from-all that matters is fit. Then I have been getting tops from some non-maternity racks. I just look for an empire waist and super long. I hate that there are so many non-maternity racks in places and I feel so limited so I started keeping an open mind everywhere I go. You'd be surprised how many non-maternity things have plenty of extra space-and they aren't too big in the arms like maternity clothes. I have found Burlington to be shockingly cheap-the clothes are cheap too but you won't be wearing them long and I am going for quantity and something unique over quality these days.

I have a few of her dresses for work - LOVE them - great for traveling and the wrap dresses grow with you and will be great after baby!
I bought a ton of stuff for about $150 - most of it looks brand new, some still had the tags on. And really... jeans are pretty comfy when they've been broken in already.
I felt like I really wanted to be cute (and picky) and couldn't see spending a fortune on the maternity clothes I had access to locally, when I only felt so-so about most of the stuff. I'm really pleased with all of my designer ebay finds!
I've had pretty good luck with Kohls when it came to work stuff, like khaki's, black slacks, cute capris, and a couple of nice shirts. I love Old Navy jeans and that's about it. Most of my maternity wardrobe came from a high-end maternity boutique that was closing it's doors, and everything was 75-85% off so I loaded up. Although, I know that's no help to you. Have you tried any high-end maternity consignment shops in your area?

All these are great ideas, but not everyone can fit into these brands. I was a size zero before getting pregnant and ON and Target are XS are HUGE still and I am in my 3rd trimester. I had to spend a small fortune on designer labels such as Maternal America. These lines are GREAT and made so well I can still wear them long after being pregnant. Another positive is that the designer labels are made MUCH better and I don't look very pregnant. I am all for cheap things-- I love Kohls, but it my case I grew out of their shirts very quickly and things shrunk despite hanging them up etc..
Honestly hit the clerance racks at motherhood maternity, traget has some good choices, and belive it or not burlington coat factory has a great selection at rock bottom prices!
I have a couple things from previous pregnancies that will work, but I'm going to have to buy almost all new (the other two were winter pregnancies).
Anyhow. The styles right now really lend themselves to being used for maternity wear. I've been buying cute tops randomly when I spot something. All non-maternity, but they'll work great. A lot cheaper and MANY more choices. I've found about 5 so far, nothing over $15. I love a good bargain
I did have to buy maternity capris and I'll probably break down and buy a few more pairs of pants/shorts/capris when the time comes. For now my bella band is working for me
I have jeans from eBay and shirts from Express. Express isn't "maternity" but they style is long tunic shirts and leave room for growing, plus they'll be cute shirts after baby. I also bought some shirts from a teen resale shop recently. I have to say, the "in" styles of shirts, either baggy or extra long, seem to be very pregnant-friendly these days! IMO, anyway.
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
Motherhood has nice things, and they last... BUT they are pricey unless you can find an excellent deal.
Burlington Coat Factory usually has nice things for low cost. Like a few others said, Target. But sometimes Target can be just as pricey as Motherhood. Another place to look would be JCPennys. They seem to be a bit more reasonable, with good quality.
I have only bought a few items (jeans and pants) from actual maternity stores--Nordstrom and Gap Maternity.
I've been picking up maternity friendly clothes from Forever 21, TJ Maxx and Banana Republic sales (sometimes need to buy one size up). I hate most maternity stores and their cheaply made and over-priced ugly clothes!
Old navy does have some really cute stuff...but if you are the type to like to see how some things fit first go online and find a store near you that has them (not all do). Also target, though i have no gotten anything there i have heard of people who have.

I've found eBay to be a great resource. I got Paige Premium jeans, brand new, for $70 (more than $100 less than retail) and also found some cute tops through sellers like The Fashionable Belly and Kiki's Fashions. (only their tops! The bottoms look cheap from what I can tell) Some of the stuff they have look WAY too young, but I've found 3 tops and one dress from them that are wonderful. My Mom bought me a few Motherhood tops for my first pregnancy, which was very kind of her, but they look way too old fashioned and frumpy to me. I did get some awesome mid belly capris from them online, though. Just have to wade through it all and find what works.

Ive bought alot of really cute maternity things on ebay for so cheap! Im talking Ann Taylor, Gap, Mimi Maternity and motherhood stuff with the tags still on for less than 1/2 the cost! I got a darling gap causal top yesterday for $5 shipped. Its perfect to wear on the boat this summer
