something wrong with baby?!?

so I was sitting with family at a restaurant for lunch today, and the baby was kicking lots and I had my hand over my belly so I could feel it, as I was talking.  Then my aunt goes, " You know,  the way that you are always feeling your belly like that leads me to believe that there might be something wrong with the baby. I worry about you." I'm like, "What? No, everything is fine. I just have a habit of touching my belly." How would me feeling the baby kick all the time have anything to do with it's health? I just really enjoy feeling the LO move around all the time.  Is that so bad?

    What a terrible thing for her to say!  I keep my hands on my belly all the time because it feels awesome to feel the baby kicking and moving!

    I put my hand on my belly when I feel her move too. One, I like to feel it. Two, I try to cover the alien movements in my belly from coworkers and students seeing.

     

    Three...that is NEVER cool to suggest something is wrong with someone's unborn child, unless you are a doctor!

    That is a strange comment.  When people say things like that I just think, "Whatever"...  It has nothing to do with the health of baby and in fact I don't know any pg Mom's who don't feel their tummy.

    I don't think that means anything is wrong.  I touch my belly all the time.  People just don't think before they speak.

    thats so negative..i dont like that.

    I always put my hand there when shes kicking bc it feels so cool to feel it from inside and on the outside. ignore that comment...and any,from her,about babys health once baby is here

    I would be concerned if you were feeling your belly b/c baby was NOT kicking.. She should probably think before she speaks next time.

    That's a horrible thing to say! A couple months ago I would have ignored it, but with the way I'm feeling right now, I probably would have gone off on her...that is such an off the wall assumption!

    you know, a few people at work have been making snarky comments like that to me, because I have a bad habit of touching my belly bump quite often. "if you keep rubbing it, it'll get bigger and then you'll never get rid of your gut"

    I think they're jealous or just plain f'ing dumb. feeling the baby move from inside and outside is one of the sweetest things there is.
