I want to make popovers. The recipe calls for milk.

The milk I have expired on 4/29. Smells ok as far as I can tell.

Should I use it? I'm usually a stickler for expired products.

    Pour it in a glass and smell it.  If it smells fine taste a tiny bit.  If it tastes like milk go for it!

    1 day...and it smells ok, I would use it. Its going to be cooked anyway...so shouldn't be a big deal. Go for it. :-)

    I have an irrational fear of expiration dates - I can't even use milk the day it expires!?

    I'm the same way, How long has it been opened?  If its been over a week, I wouldnt use it!  But, thats just me.

    Absolutely!  That's the sell by date, not expiration date.  Things are usually good a least a few days longer than the sell by date.

    Since the expiration date was just yesterday (and it smells fine) I would go ahead and use it.  I am just like you and usually toss anything once it is past expiration.  Since you are cooking with it I think it should be fine.

    Oh it's fine today... tomorrow, however I wouldn't use it (just because it's a new month, I'm weird like that).

    I wouldn't but that's just because I'm crazy like that. LOL. I can't eat/drink anything past the exp. date. I like what PP said. It's going to be cooked anyway. GL

    It's a sell by date! I'm drinking milke that's 3 days past a sell by date. Its totally fine. They account for it still being fresh after that date. No one could drink a gallon of milk in the same day!
