How much make-up do you wear and how old are you? Would you look like a hot mess (in your opinion) without it?
I have noticed over the past year that I am getting dark circles under my eyes. (sigh) I usually just wear eye liner and a colored lip gloss. Now I am wondering if I need to step it up to look more fresh and healthy. I am thinking about adding foundation to my daily routine everyday. Makes me a little sad.
I am 28.
Re: Make-up and your age..
I'm 28. I have dark circles (that I've had since I was little). I use BareMinerals/Sheer Cover - so it's just a little concealer and powder. Nothing too wild.
Yes I think I'd look a hot mess without anything on..
***Edit..I generally always wear mascara because my eyelashes are light..Darn naturally light hair!
I was just thinking about this today after seeing "What Not To Wear." I really need to step up my routine a bit. Right now I am usually lazy and don't wear much of everything, and IMO I look horrid. Hubby thinks I look fine. Whatev...
When I do wear makeup, it's usually a foundation and a little eyeshadow and lip color. I desperately need something better for my under eye circles. They are just atrocious.
I am 28 (29 in October....I want to cry.....lol).
I am 32 and rarely wear make-up. I usually remember to put some on if I have a big meeting or something where I want to look like a grown-up.
I've never had anyone encourage me to wear it so I guess I am doing okay. Well, except my mom but she doesn't count becuase she always has a criticism.
i'm 26 and i wear make-up maybe 2-3 times per year, only on special occasions. my mom never wore it so i didn't "learn" and honestly i just don't want to spend another 5-10 minutes getting ready in the morning. the downside is i probably look like crap all the time, but the upside is that only a little makeup makes me feel beautiful the times when i wear it.
i had a neighbor who NEVER left the house without a full face of 80s mom make-up on (major eyeshadow, red lips, the whole bit). I saw her one time, i think getting the mail or something, with no make-up and i thought she looked horrendous and 10 yrs older. i would never want people to get so used to me with make-up on that they (or i) reacted when i didn't have it on.
Old as the hills and painted like a pony.
Okay just kidding. For sure I wear more than when I was younger, but it's still just really blush, mascara and lipgloss mostly.
Unless I have to go to some glizzy thing. Then a bit more war paint.
LMAO!
I'm 25, but I've never slept through the night (dark circles) and my cheeks and nose are really really rosy. So I wear makeup daily unless I'm hanging at the house or just going to the store. BUT, i also don't like the look of a lot of makeup/
Day-to-day work - powder, brown eye liner, mascara, neutral eye shadow.
Suit days at work, going out - liquid foundation, powder around eyes and red cheeks/nose, ligh tblush, lipstick, eye shadow, liner, mascara, the whole works.
If I'm going out, i won't always wear neutrals, but most days, I stick to browns, tans, and pinks.
Soon to be 28. I use a little blush and lipstick to liven me up (otherwise I look deathly pale). I love using bobbi brown's shimmer bricks in the summer and I usually have a stash of burts bees lip shimmers that I keep around.
Other than that I keep it simple. I'll kick it up a notch if I'm going out with DH (powder foundation from shu uemura is really light and covers well, a little eye liner, and eye powder to what I already do).
i'm 22. i always wear blush no matter what, i look like a ghost without it. my favorites are: nars (in orgasm) and maybelline mineral power blush in a pink color (better than any expensive blush i've ever tried!). i also put a little bit of bronzer on, too.
aside from that, at night i will put on a little bit of dark brown eyeliner (not a fan of mascara if i'm not going to something really formal) and occasionally a little concealer (bobbi brown stick) or laura mercier tinted moisturizer.
if i were you i would go with good undereye concealer and a little powder to set it rather than foundation all over your face. feels like a mask to me.
I'm 32 and never wear make-up. Like others, my mom never wore any (her going out or to a wedding make-up was eyeliner - that was a big deal!). I never learned and never had friends who wore much either.
Now I will wear some for a meeting or if I'm in the mood - so this is maybe 5 times a year. And then when we go out sometimes. I just don't know how to apply it and I hate how it feels. BareMinerals is the only thing I have found that I can tolerate. I don't know - I usually get complimented for having good skin so maybe I can still get by.
Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
Please don't tell me you also have naturally rosy lips and cheeks, and thick, lustrous hair! I'm jealous already!
Oh, yes, I'm 33 and I need my undereye concealer, eyeliner and lipstick every day!

Mourning the loss of Amarine Stella, born at 21 weeks, 6 days.
We will always love you, our little angel.
I have always had dark circles too. For my 26th birthday (I'm still 26) I made DH get me the Loreal RevitaLift eye cream. I wish I started using it earlier! I can't believe how light my eyes look now. I don't have anymore circles under my eyes.
For makeup, I use an organic tinted moisterizer, loose powder, and I crimp my eyelashes. Some days I wear more, but not too often. I just looked up all my makeup on a website that tells the toxicity of it, and I was appalled, so I threw away a lot, and decided to use the rest sparingly. I wear less makeup now than I used to.
TCT... Nars orgasm is the best blush out there! I can't live without it:)
Boxie- take a look at this
I am 34 and wear full make-up to work (foundation/concealer, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, blush, lipstick and lip gloss). One weekends, if I am out and about, I at least wear a little concealer/power, mascara and lip gloss/balm.
My combination skin tends to be splotchy so a sheer foundation is a must to even out my skin tone. I really like Maybelline's PureMakeup foundation and Mac's full coverage foundation (which I use as a concealer...works great on redness, breakouts and dark circles).

I'd say I wear more make-up now than when I was younger, but less color. I try to keep everything fairly neutral/natural for daily wear. For special occasions I will glam it up with smoky eyes or red lips.

I am 25
I wear a powder foundation to cover up my freckles (i hate mine), eye shadow, eye liner, and mascara.
I hate going out without makeup!!
I wear very little, usually just some bare minerals to cover blemishes and keep the shine down. I'm 34.
I would probably look better with more, but I'm lazy and SO prefers no makeup on me.
I wear eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, lipgloss, and occasionally some loose powder on break out days. I'm 24 will be 25 in less than a month.
