2nd Trimester

I wish MIL was a Bumpie.

She could then be openly flamed for her ignorance.

Apparently my dogs will eat the baby's hands, (don't ask, I have no idea where she gets this stuff), right before dying of SIDs.  The imminent death of my babe will inevitably be caused by my crib bumper.  She felt the need to call and lecture me about this last night-was there a full moon? I haven't even registered for bedding since we don't know the gender, she didn't even ask me if I plan to use a bumper or not, so this was just a random act of verbal harrassment.  WHY ME????

  • LOL!!! Thanks for the laugh...our MIL's are one in the same.
When I read the title of your post, I was like...oooohhh, I'm so jealous of how much she loves her MIL. Then I read it and realized you suffer just as I do. Stay strong! Wink

  • That's hard.  People forget that they were once first time parents and didn't know the what they know now.  I just wish overbearing relatives would back off!  I feel for you!!!

Nope, this will be her 4th grandchild...  Unfortunately you don't know her histroy; this isn't about her caring, she's just a lunatic. She told my SIL that her cats are going to kill her baby. Apparently all chlidren born with our last name will pass shortly after birth.  She was hopped up on darviset due to painful blood clots in her leg while chain smoking when she called to warn me. Let's just say she's not exactly an expert on health and safety.

  • My MIL probably doesn't even know what a bumper is.  She's pretty out of tune with anything baby...it's been 27 years since she had one.

How lucky you are! It's been 34 years for mine and she still thinks it is all the same. Nothing has changed, and she knows it all. The other day DH and I were talking about cradles/bassinetts with my SIL & BIL, she felt the need to tell me it was a bathinett, that is what you give the baby a bath in. I told her no we were talking about a BASSinett, something the baby can SLEEP in. She still argued with me and got upset when BIL told her that is NOT what we were talking about.
