I'm French/Irish/Hungarian.
DH is Irish and English.
My kids are mutts. DH is 100% Italian, but I'm English/Irish/German/French.
And for the record, I'm glad that I read the body of your post before blindly responding because the first thing that came to mind was "snips, snails and puppy dog tails"

DH is 75% Irish and 25% Jewish.
I am mostly German and Italian...with a little Irish and Swedish thrown in there.
Me - 50% Italian, 25% Irish, 25% German.
DH - 50% Scottish, 25% German, 25% Cherokee.
I am 25 percent Swiss, 25 percent Prussian, 50 percent Austrian (including Austrian Jewish).

So Joseph is basically "made up" of equal parts pasta, pork and cheese.

DH is 100% Mormon... he can directly trace back to the orginal members. Does that count as a race? Seriously I think it is like Dutch, Irish, Scandanavian, etc. but his sides have all been here since the 1800's.

We're both Jewish- but that is our religion not our "race". Sorry but it's really hard and hurtful to read when people say it is a race. It's not - the Nazis tried to make it into one- not that I'm saying anyone is thinking that way - please know I'm not saying that at all about anyone- I'm just saying let's not confuse race/ethnic background and religion. Maybe having friends whose grandparents survived the Holocaust made me more sensitive to this.

Yet every geneticist we've met asks if we're related due to DD's genetic syndrome.
Oh, and I believe that Judaism is an ethnicity as there are genetic syndromes that are only specific to Jews. Race, ethnicity- whatever you call it, it's all the same. It's not just a religion.?

Very true. I'm sorry if this is upsetting to some, but as someone who is part ethnic Jew but practicing traditional Catholic, the fact is that the vast majority of people who identify as Jewish or of Jewish extraction are related in direct line of descent to the people that built the pyramids. I am not apalled that people believe that because of what a psychopath tried to do. I am proud that despite despots, tyrants and madmen over thousands of years, we are still here to defiantly say "I am here, I have Jewish blood, and you have not destroyed us."

I am not supposed to be here BUT I figured I would answer:
DH: 50% Algerian Jewish and 50% Moroccan Jewish (Pre-1492 probably Spanish, with a bit of Berber thrown it)
Me: 25% Dutch Jew, 25% German Jew, 50% Polish Jew.
In regard to the Jewish Ethnicity debate which sprung up, both sides are wrong to some extent and both sides are also right. What you are refering to isn't Jewish ethnicity but Ashkenaz ethnicity meaning the Jews of Europe. You also have Sepharde ethnicity for the Jews originating in Spain who mostly went to N. African and the Ottoman Empire upon expulsion). But you also have other Jewish ethnic groups including Persian Jews, Levantine Jews, Yemenite Jews, Indian Jews (Bene Israel and Cochini), and Mountain Jews from the Caucuses. So you need to be really careful what you say as Judaism is a religion but there a ethnic bundles within the religion. Since I know someone will bring up the genetic work that has been done a lot of it has been mispresented. If you want I can go into detail but essentially beyond saying that you ethnic group is Ashkenaz (well this you ladies a least) but you really shouldn't say your ethnic group is Jewish as it is a misnomer.
