I'm about to throat punch DH!!

ok, so heres the situation, we have been planning a trip to go to San Diego for over a month now. My friend moved there a while back, and we planned to go for a just a 1 day visit (we live about 3 hours away). Well now what with this whole swine flu thing going on DH is completly against going. Now, dont get me wrong, being concered is one thing, but yelling at me, and making me feel like the worlds worst mother just cuz im not super Paranoid about this is another. we would be staying with her, and not going to any public places or anything, just hanging out at her place. Am I really that wrong thinking its not that big a deal???? I am just so mad right now, cuz my friend doesnt know im PG and I was planning on telling her when I saw her. Also I have my next appt on Thursday and was planning on asking the dr too, but what would you do? would you still go??

(im sorry I know this subject has been talked about like 5 thousand times already, but I am just so lost right now..Zip it!)

    Are there a lot of cases of Swine Flu in San Diego? (ie- more than where you live). If not, then I'd say go for it. I wouldn't go to Mexico right now, but I think San Diego should be okay. Just be sure to wash your hands and those types of things. I think it should be okay.

    I'd probably be just about as concerned as you are... maybe DH will feel better about it if you have your Dr.'s consent though.  Good Luck!!!

    What would be the difference of where you live and San Diego if it is only 3 hours away? Are you flying? if you were planning on it just drive instead. I would be mad at DH right now too.

    You are a much calmer woman than i am, i'm afraid i would have punched him now!! The chances of getting swine flu are actually really low, no matter what they tell you on the news, if you actually go the the World Health Organisation which keeps us rational non paranoid people informed on the outbreak you can see that really there's nothing to get worried about.

    Worse case make sure you carry a shed load of purell with you!

    I've been to Mexico in the past 3 weeks, and i haven't come down with anything nasty *cough* hee hee!!

    It's really not a big deal, just be sensible don't hang out with any illegal immigrants that might be carrying it, don't share ice-cream with anyone who looks sick and wash your hands!

    Enjoy your trip to San Diego, and if i were you i would leave DH at home and have a great time with your friend!

    We live in L.A.

    And yes, we would be driving there in our car, not flying or anything

    oh Geesh, my step dad is an infectious disease specialist in San Diego and he's not worried. Just wash your hands and don't touch your face. It is no big deal. Go, have fun, throat punch DH.

    LOL! ?You are fine...I am perfectly healthy and living in San Diego. ?I'm even going back to school right now where there are tons of germs, but I just wash my hands a lot and use antibacterial wipes. ?This whole Swine flu thing is getting blown WAY out of proportion. ?There are about 6 cases right now in SD, but people need to remember that this is a flu. ?Millions of people get the flu every year and chances are you will be fine. ?I hope he changes his mind...it is a beautiful time of year right now and I think you would really enjoy it. ?:) ?GL!
