it took 9 months of trying (6 long cycles) & i was off bc for 6 months prior to ttc

This time we are on cycle 8 with no BFP and with DS it took us 26 cycles or so. And I have short cycles so that is also 8 and 26 months as well.

I'm on my 7th cycle. I suggest you have your DH read this post. It certainly can happen the first time you try, but that's not the norm.

men rarely get it, right? DH has stopped trying to understand. He basically told me, "You just tell me when I need to perform, ok?"

Which gives me untold powers. . . .hehe

ETA: you might want to try a clicky poll on first tri. While getting pg on your first month trying does happen (it's rare), you won't hear much of that on GP.

i was off bcp for a year and a half. just used condoms.

charted for one month to get the hang of it. then started TTC the next and that's the cycle i got my BFP. but then again, i'm fairly young (turned 24 the cycle we got our BFP)

Nice! Were on cycle # 3 (Month 3 off BCP) I'd start trying now if I were you. We were going to start TTC in July, but realized it could take a while.
