Remembering your BFP...

I am testing at some point this week. Still no signs of AF. I tested this morning with a BFN. I feel like I could be getting my period with some mild crampiness, but none of the normal preceeding spotting. I have a horrible memory, but I feel like I felt this way with my BFP. Did anyone else feel like they were getting their period and end up being pregnant? I hate to say it, but I'm not sure which outcome I'm hoping for at this point. The past week has made me nostalgic to be pregnant again and wondering if if it would be such a bad thing... Hehehe. Embarrassed

Re: Remembering your BFP...

  • I felt like I could have started any day except for the fact that my boobs hurt so bad I couldn't stand it. That was my dead give away... well that and the fact that all I ate for a week was Taco Bell. I didn't really put it all together until my sister pointed all of this out and it hit me. We weren't trying and I was on the pill so DS was a complete surprise!

  • I didn't feel anything until a few days after I got my BFP.  Then it felt like I was getting AF... with full on cramps.  It's completely normal to feel like AF is coming.

    Good luck!

  • Yup. ?I even had some spotting so I was convinced. ?I had even tested the week before and it was neg. ?Then when I was a week late I tested and it was pos.
  • I actually had no symptoms around my bfp time and that's what made it all seem so strange. I have the same exact symptoms on the same exact days when I get around af-time and that month I had nothing.  No cramps at all, not even a twinge of a cramp. Nothing.  I tested on the day af was due and it was positive within seconds.

The only bfp-signals that I had were random spotting a week before bfp, some dizziness and waves of nausea, and an odd stretchy rubber-bandy feeling under my belly button. But at the time I thought I was just coming down w/something.

  • The only symptoms I had intially were (TMI warning) bumps on my areolas - I was like WTF is this and everything smelled like syrup to me.  Once I got my BFP, I did experience some very mild cramping and spotting, but that was after I knew I was PG.  I tested pretty early, though.
  • I didn't test until I was 2 weeks late because I was sure I was just about to start - I had some major cramps :(

One day I realized that I was 2 weeks late, so I tested and it was very positive!

  • I didn't have any AF symptoms before I tested, I actually tested because I realized I was due for AF but we'd been on vacation and it slipped my mind that I was a week late!  Soon after I got the BFP I did have some mild cramping so I know it's true you can feel that way and be preg.  GL...whatever happens!!  :)
  • Yeah I woke up druing the night with AF cramps.  So I was like ok here comes the period so I got up popped some advil and laid back down.  When I laid back down the cramps stopped and I remember thinking that's weird they dont' usually stop like that.  Then when I woke up and saw no blood- again I was like that's weird.  This was sunday night/monday morning.  I never tested until Saturday.  I kept wearing a pantyliner all week thinking my period was coming--- so wrong!
  • I didn't know I was pregnant until my GYN had me on the table doing my yearly exam. She looked at me and said "did they do your urine test yet?" And I said I took it, but they haven't said anything about it yet. She says "I'm thinking your pregnant, you have a blue cervix!" So she did my exam, left, and sure enough, my urine test said I was pregnant. We weren't trying, but I wasn't on BC, because I took a number of tests years previous that told me it would be EXTREMELY difficult for me to get pregnant. This was all right after we moved up north and got engaged. We were surprised, to say the least!

Well, I had crampiness and no AF when I got my BFP.

  • I had been pregnant once before but miscarried a couple of months before I was pregnant with DD.

I went to the mall and was looking for a white button-up sweater to go over my dress for a wedding that weekend. I went back to the dressing room to try it on and oh my, I noticed the "road map" of blue veins all over my chest. I knew at that point that I was pregnant without POAS. I went out later that afternoon and got a kit and waited until the next morning. I secretly tested and came up positive. I of course was inwardly very afraid of miscarrying again.

Later that evening, I gave DH a bib and a card to surprise him. He was very happy, but also wary.
