How will your house/apt change after baby arrives?
Obviously, with this being our first, we need to childproof everything! We will also have to control the dog more...not sure how he will react to a tiny baby in the house!

Well since we already have a wild and crazy toddler, there is not too much we will have to change. Mostly I think we will just have to keep an eye on them together as I am sure they will get into plenty of mischief together.
My DH dreamed that this was a boy (and he has 100% accuracy rate so far) so I am getting nervous and excited. I just hope our ultrasound goes well and shows a healthy baby in there!

Our house will not be changing much. It is already babyproofed for our 2yr old, and the new baby will be sharing a room with the 2 yr old. All we will need to do is rearrange the furniture already in there and buy a crib. But we are not going to be in that big a rush, b/c the new baby will stay in a bassinet in our room until he/she either sleeps through the night or is too big for the bassinet.
We are kind of lucky as with 2 other kids, this one will be the cheapest as all we have to buy is a new crib and diapers, we have everything else!
We're making a lot of room changes! We want to keep the nursery downstairs next to our master, so DS will move upstairs into what is now the playroom (across the hall from DD), and we are in the process of finishing the basement into a family room and playroom. Then of course, we will redo the nursery in a gender neutral theme. I just hope we get it all done in time.
The house has been babyproofed forever so at least we have the important things done.

After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Right now we have hardwood on the stairs and upstairs hallway & I need to get a runner especially for the steps. My dog cannot do hardwood stairs and I don't see myself worrying about carrying the dog and the baby! Plus, carpeting is safer for me too.
Other than that - just lots more stuff!! We move all the time, so I wouldn't be shocked if we decided to move again...
We are actually looking for a new place right now. Right now we have a 4 BR house. One br is DD's room, one is a playroom and one is the office. We'll probably combine the office and playroom to make room for #2.
We are currently in a two bedroom townhome (rented). We will be turning the spare bedroom/office into a nursery. We will also need to baby proof, although it might not be entirely necessary since we are currently planning on moving before the baby is even 5 months old. If we don't end up moving then of course we will baby proof everything.
Not too worried about our dog or cat. Might work on refining our dog's training a bit and get her used to baby sounds.

Feels like we have outgrown the house already and the LO isn't even here yet!
For starters, my husband loses his game room until we get the addition on next year. And Im sure my house will be packed full of baby stuff, which I am not going to like. I like to have what I need, however, I dont like to have more than I need, and I have the feeling this is going to be the case and it is going to drive me crazy, im sure of it.

We have a ton of breakables and sentimental pieces throughout the house. The first time I had a friend over with kids, I looked around and though, "I don't see too much that a kid could get into..." WRONG! My house is SO not child-proofed. I'll probably have to get over the fear of anything getting spilled on my sofa or rug in the living room, too.
I'm nervous about how our cats will handle the change, too. One of my cats has a tendency to pee outside the litter box when he's p*ssed off (he's got a serious attitude), and I have nightmares of him peeing in the crib or bassinet.
