2nd Trimester

Pain horrible Pain (long)

Ok. I try to get to the gym atleast 3 times a week (mainly weekends because I am off). I used to run before getting pregnant but now due to my growing belly and a pre-existing joint problem I just do that eliptical thingy, stepper, or walk. I live a little over a mile from the gym so sometimes on a nice day I walk there, do a light workout, and walk back. Well this Sat I did that and that walk felt soooo long. I did a mile while in the gym and called it quits and headed home. Half way there my lower bump started to hurt BAD and my crotch. (I have off and on had round ligament pain and lightning crotch so I know thats normal)

By the time I got home I was almost in tears. I couldn't stand up the rest of the day without a sore straining feeling in my lower abdomin and sharp pain almost bruised feeling in my crotch. I spent most of Sunday laying down to see if the pain stopped. Was it a strain, did I pull something, or did I just over exert myself?! The pain went away after a day of laying around and I am fine (only slight lightning crotch) today.

I have an appt (in fact my BIG U/S) Tuesday and plan on talking to my doctor then but I wanted to see if anyone else has felt anything similar after over-exerting themselves?

  • Sounds like you overexerted yourself, woman.

Just keep resting, take a warm bath and see if that helps too.

  • I try to walk after work a few days a week and the other day I made it about 2 blocks and both calf muscles cramped up so bad that I fell to my knees. Good thing I was by grass b/c I had to sit down for 15mins and rub my legs and was able to walk back home. Scared the crap out of me!

I walk on my lunch break, and then a longer walk after I get home from work.

I get a weird tight feeling in my belly at night sometimes but not pain.  I was thinking it could have something to do with dehydration?  I am noticing a change in my stamina over the last couple weeks though where I can't keep up my regular pace.  Jsut listen to your body and slow down a litt.e
