well, i was told that she made a vendor like post on EFF. something about looking for diaper testers.
and if this is the case, it brings me the LOLz because its the same thing that she had Hippy banned for.?
She "had" hippy banned for this reason? I think we're giving BB too much power here.
Hippy was practising unsavoury business dealings on the nest.
If BB was doing the same, then I understand. But how would she send cloth diapers from france? That has to cost huge shipping.

At least I have the gumption to call hippy a thief and stick to it. Unlike LOTR, Go4, JoesLove, and some other EFF people who sang the "she done me wrong" song but are now back to their regularly scheduled ass kissing.
maybe its because they can live and let live once somebody fixes their wrong-doings. hippy and I have talked about this off-board at length. I dont have a whole lot to say about it because your/joes/go4's experience w/ her has not been my experience. so i am not going to jump on the bandwagon and bash her for it. but the crap that came before and followed that fallout was ridiculous. and i dont buy for a second that you were not part of it.
so you can sit up there all high and mighty about sticking to your thief opinions as long as you want. but as long as hippy fixes what she did and runs her business in a professional manner going foward, i dont see what the problem is.?
The very second Hippy took money and did not meet her promised delivery goal she became a thief. I was *promised* delivery on February 23. After that, thief. Restitution does not equal refund. It is paying back (less interest, I might add) what is already stolen.
Hippys claims of "you're no friend of mine!!" and "all you had to do was ask for a refund" are laughable. I bought product and expected product, not a refund. Also MY friends don't steal from me.

I'm not a fan of either hippy or BB. So let that be stated. But I too was shocked at how quickly hippy was let off the hook. hey, do what you want to do but there's a fine line between "forgiveness' and "suckeeeerrrrr". She dances that line well obviously.
It's weird to me that her "apologies" have been about bashing BB and not about saying "yep, I made HUGE mistakes and suck. I'm sorry." It's always "at least I didn't laugh at a GIFT!" "A BAD person is someone who calls someone out! Or who lends them money they never should have NEEDED!" ::tosses hair::
Its lame. She is a thief. Bad at business is usually a wall street excuse for robbery. Apparently it works on the nest too.

i didn't run any background checks. Puhlease. Don't drink the Hippy coolaid. The people w/ screenshots of chatz know how surprised and delighted I was to find out the "order of protection" information.

The bold statement is what irritates me. She has never really apologized for her wrong doing. Never. You can like her as a person, that is fine. But what she did was steal from people, and she didn't even have the cahunas to apologize individually to each person she screwed (or attempted to screw). In my case, she let LOTR do the dirty work for her. LOTR even said she was going to plead with Hippy to publicly apologize. I am still waiting for that. Luckily, I am not holding my breath.
I didn't drink any Hippy Koolaid. My opinion was formed completely from what I saw on my own.

If you arent starting a business, then why have other people test your diapers? Why don't you just use them if you are making them for you?
And forgiveness is different than saying "hey I think you should keep doing business and I'm going to buy from you." I did talk to hippy about my feelings as well, and I'm still her friend. I believe in forgiveness. And I think it's going to be easy to keep business and friendship seperate for me. Maybe it's because you never screw up so you can't understand why anyone would empathize or sympathize with that. I don't know. I just know that I have made my peace with the situation, and I can continue to be friends with her.
So then you're not still afraid of the influence she has over your AP parenting group there in MN? And she has too many friends that you know IRL and you don't want to ruffle any feather?
Cause that seems to me like cowardice not forgiveness.
I love the atheist espousing forgiveness, that's a nice touch.
The competition between hippy and BB to be the least unsavoury a character is entertaining.
Both are pretty awful. So are the many others involved in the searching of personal histories.

I was pretty mad for a while. I'm over it. I told her I was mad, and I talked to her. I'm not sure why you are so BSC though.
And uhh forgiveness is not something that is the property of Christians. Anyone can believe in forgiveness. I just don't need a book to tell me that it's the right thing to do.
Dude. He's a nice guy. Yep he made some mistakes, but he paid his time. He's always been very friendly and sweet to me. And he HANGS OUT WITH COMIC BOOK NERDS for cripes sake. The dude is about as harmful as a butterfly.
Would I let him take my kid on a vacation alone? nope. but I wouldn't let anyone do that. He's really not the hardened criminal he's made out to be, or that you would think he would be with the crime. People can change.
I'm on the people can change bandwagon, but they can change with their next girlfriend.
However, LOTR doesn't seem like a cowardly sort to me BB. That's reaching.
I think forgiveness is great, but I don't see someone who feels bad about what she's done, so it will happen again, and again, and again.

maybe i'm not *sticking to what I said* because Hippy did apologize to me personally. I don't see why she needed to apologize publicly for what she did, we settled it off nest and we're fine. She knows I'm not happy with how she handled it, I know she's sorry for how long it took her. I'm not going to continue harping on it. i learned my lesson and I won't be buying or selling from her again. I'm not kissing anyone's ass. but while she may have taken a long time to get products to me, she didn't intentionally lie to me and use me to start bullshiit that went way beyond batshitcrazy. so i'll take Hippy over BB or Menz any day of the week.
That makes you the worst of the lot, imho joes. Because when Hippy shills over on EFF about her product and you keep quiet, you tacitly allow other people to be taken advantage of. Your silence is your approval. And do you really think that business should still be run?
Actually I was a bit cowardly. I should have talked to hippy about my feelings right away, and I didn't. But I eventually did. so I can be cowardly. can't we all? Life and dealing with difficult situations is always touchy.
And I didnt' say she changed. I said her husband changed.
And I'm not dealing with DD again, and I'm not buying it (never did), so if she does it again to someone else - I'm just saying out of it. Because I'm not going to let poo smell be-gone get in the way of a friendship with someone who is a really sweet and wonderful person.

You need to step back and ask yourself why you have such a hard on for hippy.
You posted what you had to say on her reviews on her store. You are not the law. Nor do you need to make it your personal mission in life to ruin her. If she wants to open a store and sell what is it to you? People say oh well I have to warn people. Well you know what they have been warned, they don't need to be warned 150 times.
I don't have to be anyones friend to see it is wrong to persecute someone over and over for their sins. She has a black mark on her etsy shop reviews that will stay with her and be there for all to see. Jesus would no be proud of you if that is the koolaide you drink.
