Trying to Get Pregnant

BFP 9dpo...

DH and I went to the store this afternoon to be ready to test Tuesday or Wednesday. The weather has been crazy today, tornados and thunder storms most of the day. The thunder is still rolling through and Dh is asleep, I got anxious and bored so I took one just to see if it would show me anything. DH is still asleep and has no clue yet. We had our first real date may 5 06 and thought it would be neat if i could hold out on telling him until next week but I doubt I will last that long, especially since he is expecting us to test this week.

I'm cautiously excited!!!

Re: BFP 9dpo...

  • That would be sooo cute if you could wait to tell him til then! But if not, I'm sure he'll be super excited anyway you tell him!

    Congratulations!!!

  • Congrats!!!  How could you even consider keeping something this huge from your husband for a week though?  If you were going to do that, you should have just waited until the 6th to test...

  • I know I won't be able to keep it in for an entire week...there is no way lol. I need to think of something before this week is over though in case I can keep it in. He is expecting us to test this week, should I just tell him it might be too early if he asks? :)
  • Tell him whenever you want to!!  I can't keep a secret/surprise so I know I couldn't do it but lots of people tell their husbands about their BFP in a cute way.  It's not as if it's a betrayal if you don't tell him the second the results come back.  Congrats!

I don't want to keep it from him but if it involves telling him in an awesome way, I would totally try my hardest to keep it a secret for a few days.

  • I would just tell him!  I wouldn't be able to keep it from my husband.  Waiting a few days to gather blue & pink balloons and onesies and wrap up the pee stick and put buns in the oven just isn't my style...but to each their own.

Yeah, I'm not big on lying.

I wouldn't consider it "lying" if I'm going to tell him in a sweet creative way. Plus, after all we've been through he deserves to be told in a memorable way. Whatever way that is, I'm sure I'll be brainstorming all night since it's still hella stormy out side.

  • any way you tell him will be memorable and special, even if the only reason is because you're pregnant.  i got my BFP the other night and ran in our bedroom like a crazy person to tell my hubs, i couldn't imagine holding that feeling in, just saying.  i would tell him sooner rather than later, but that's just me!
  • Congradulations! Yes
  • Congrats!  How exciting!!

i wouldn't consider it 'keeping' it from him, i consider it that you get to tell him in a way neither of you will forget, you can make it special from him. I know when our time comes, that is what i am going to do! even if i have to 'keep it, hide it' whatever for a week or so!

  • Not to be cliche, but the news itself is special. Particularly with what you guys have gone through, I would just let him know the fabulous news.

Congrats and best of luck for a healthy babe!

I get that any way I tell him is special, but I want to do it differently than just running from just POAS.

Maybe I'll send him a text that says Trav and Aimee +2 or something...a text probably wouldn't be very special, lol, so I better do something else! haha

I agree with this. Call me old school, but I have always fantasized about one day just sharing that moment with my husband. There doesn't have to be any cutesie decoration, card, or onesie. Just the news is special enough. That's just me.
  • congratulations! i agree that it would be difficult to keep it to yourself, but if you want to make it extra special for that day, then go for it!

  • Congrats!

Since he is asleep, how about you create a scavenger hunt or something cute for him to wake up to?

Or if you could sneak out to walmart you could get some little onsies or booties to put in his clothes drawer or shoes

I dont think waiting a week, although it would be special, is a good idea as its not really fair since he is probibly just as excited as you are and you should enjoy this moment together

  • Congrats!  You can always go ahead and tell him now.  I don't think I could hold out.  Then you can save the cutesy stuff to tell your parents on mothers day.
  • Congrats!  Sending you tons of sticky baby dust!  I hope you tell your DH soon...maybe the "bun in the oven" is a cute way for you to do it.  Some other bumpies have done it that way and it always goes over well for them.
  • Congrats ... stick baby stick!

Me too! ?When I got my BFP, I had grand plans of telling DH in some memorable way. ?Instead, when the word "pregnant" showed up at 5:30 in the morning, I ran into the bedroom, turned on the light and shoved the stick in his face while I sat there and bawled! ?

?Congrats! ?Have fun sharing the news whenever you do it!?
