Do you brush toddler's teeth twice daily?

DS had his second trip to the pediatric dentist. He recommended ditching the flouride free "baby" toothpaste and gave a sample of the Tom's natural toothpast in strawberry. Also, I'd been letting DS brush his teeth and then I'd follow up behind him with a finger brush...so the dentist said the finger brushes aren't that good for cleaning and ecouraged me to use the regular toothbrush instead. Twice daily or more. I've only been doing in the morning and before bed.

    I brush them morning and night, with a baby toothbrush and toothpaste.

    We do it once a day with kids toothpaste WITH flouride.

    Really, we do it once a day b/c I am just so bad about doing it twice... I need to work on that.

    On his daycare days he gets them twice a day. Daycare does it right after lunch and we do it at home before bed. On the days I'm home with him I forget to do it at lunch time so its only before bed. I always brush his teeth first (facing the mirror since he thinks its funny) then after I'm done I let him finish up since he does such a fabulous job LOL

    We had Paige to the pediatric dentist at 18 months.  She told us the same about the finger brush.  Paige also loves her electric tooth brush but I forgot to ask about it - is it good or not?!  Anyway, she said we should brush morning and night but if our child will only allow us to do it once make sure we are doing it at night because you want the teeth clean before they go to bed all night long.  So we get the teeth every night and TRY for in the morning.  She also gets her toothbrush to "brush" after breakfast and lunch on her own.  The dentist said it is ok to chew on the toothbrush - it is actually a good thing :-)  It was recommended that we offer her a toothbrush after meals and it allows us to clean up while she is "brushing"!  GL!

    i do the morning brush as soon as he wakes, dh is supposed to brush his teeth before bed but i dont think he does.. we use a regular tooth brush for kids and we still use infant toothpaste

    Only at night before bed. I know I should do it more, but time is lacking in our day. We use fluoride free Tom's of Maine paste.

    we brush every night.  DS does not try yet on his own.

     

    in the morning we get it in about 3-4 days a week.
