how do i avoid leaking so much when i get out of the shower?
right now I pump in the mornings (before what WILL be "worktime") but I'm trying my hardest to push that first pump back to 10 am...the latest i've gotten is 9 am. I dont want to pump in the am before i leave, I just want to pump 3 x a day at work.
i'd like to get on my "work" schedule this week and next which means showering in the morning. I go back 6 weeks pp.
im pretty engorged by the time I would be waking up. He alternates sides nursing throughout the night.
if I shower in the morning (6ish) and don't pump, a ton of my milk literally goes down the drain.
how do I train my body to hold off?
Will this affect the awesomeness that is my first pump? (sorry dont mean to AW but i get 10-11 oz in that first pump!!)

First, I am SO jealous of your 10-11 oz!
When does your son nurse overnight and in the AM? What time do you have to be at work? My son is the same age and eating every 2-3 hrs. I guess I don't understand where he's nursing during this morning time. Are you getting 10-11 oz AFTER he nurses?
Does his schedule work so you can nurse him at 6 AM prior to your shower, then pump at 9 or 10 (at work)?
That seems too obvious so I'm probably not understanding your situation.

yeah I'm very blessed with my milk supply, I am thankful for that!
It's also a brand new job which makes life even more complicated....here's what I THINK my schedule will be.
Nursing him throughout the night/early a.m. on demand-he doesn't have any patterns yet.
Leave for work around 7:30, so I'd get to work at 8 after dropping him off.
I would like to pump either 9, 12, and 3 or 10, 12, and 2.
actually I'd rather pump first thing at 8....but I'd get lunch at 12 and can you make the hours uneven? ( like 8, 12, and 2? or 8, 12 and 3?)
sorry this is long and drawn out. But on a side note it's 8:30 and I haven't pumped and its uncomfortable but not unbearable....so I'm thinking I just have to space it out during our "practice" days and by then my body will be ready!
I opened this expecting the same issue I have - as soon as I start the water for the shower my breasts start leaking. I leak when I hear DD crying (even over the phone), leak when having sex, and for some reason... leak when I take a shower (or run water for a bath).
When I first got to work I tried to stay on a schedule - 9, 12, 3, and then I would be home by 6. Now I pump when I can - sometimes it's 2 hours between, sometimes it's 4. It never seems to affect my supply, I always come home with as much as she consumes in a day...
... and I still leak every time I start the shower
