I've only been on it for a week, but I've noticed a difference. I was only pumping 2ounces, but now I am up to almost 4! I haven't really had side effects yet. I noticed a weird taste in my mouth the past few nights, not sure if it's from that. I've heard that depression/anxiety is pretty common after a while.
You need to distinguish between side effects and risk factors.
Bad taste in the mouth is pretty common. So is sleep trouble (for you not bubs).
Depression is not a side effect. What it is though - is a risk factor. So if you are prone to PPD (have a history of depression or symptoms alrready) then use of Reglan for more than 3 weeks is considered adding to your risk of PPD. It doesn't give you PPD like it gives you a bad taste in your mouth though. And temporary use of reglan doesn't have the same correlation.
And its pretty hard to say if women with supply probs for more than 3 weeks were going to get depressed anyway after a longer period.
if you don't have any other risk factors for PPD and you don't use it for too long the chance of getting ppd is no more or less than it is anyway.
I have been on Reglan since late Jan and really the only side effects I have had is being tired.
It has worked wonders for me. Before I started taking it I would only get like 3 to 4 oz when pumping and now I can get anywhere from 9 to 12 oz. It only took about 2 days for me to see it was working.
