Icky Tick Bites...

Thus far my pregnancy has been pretty much uneventful with the exception of some morning sickness, so I really have no room to complain... Well on Sunday morning I woke up and my ear was numb, I thought maybe I slept on it funny so I rolled over and went back to sleep, only to wake up 10 minutes later with in hurting even worse and hot to the touch... Well my hubby found a tick had bitten me!

Enter DRAMA... I felt so gross.  He quickly pulled it out making sure to get the head and transfered it to a zip lock bag in case it needed tested. 

After calling my OB, Primary Care and a Pediatrician it has been decided that the chances of Lymes Disease are very small since we caught the tick pretty quickly.  The chances of my passing Lymes to the baby are also rare.  I do have to get a blood test next week and then again in a few more weeks to ensure it was not an infected bite.

Seriously though... don't pregnant women have enough to worry about?

    I'm glad they're testing you - we get tick bites ALL the time down here and I've never had one hurt like that.  Ouch!
