The rules for sushi while BF'ing?

Of course I'll double check, but I think I remember reading that you need to follow the same rules while breastfeeding as while pregnant.Hot weather makes me not want to eat dinner... but sushi is the only exception! I'm craving it SO bad! What will I do without sushi all summer?!Anyone know off hand what the rules are??

    you'll probably want to continue to avoid the high mercury fish, but the only real danger with sushi are parasites, and they won't get into your breastmilk. The concern when you're pregnant is that you'll get sick, and if you don't do anything about it your baby could suffer.  The parasites don't cross the placenta.

    Ditto pp.  The reason pregnant women avoid it is because raw fish can contain listeria, which can cause miscarriage.  No risk of that while breastfeeding! Wink  Go enjoy some sushi!

    Ditto the PP's!  Sushi was the first thing I ate after I had DD.  I was craving it THAT bad! LOL

    i ate sushi during my pregnancy and while breastfeeding. i just avoided the high mercury fishes during pregnancy. dd is healthy as can be. moderation with everything-

    Ha ha - I also had sushi the first night home from the hospital.  My friends wanted to see the baby and I told them they could come if they brought me sushi :)  I also avoid the high mercury stuff, but enjoy!

    dr told me i was free from diet-restriction.. lunch meat, blue cheese, tuna fish hot dogs, SUSHI, everything.. :) go for it girl, i kno i am gonna.. i too, missed it terribly!
