Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I have one demanding baby (and ? for BFs)

I guess the growth spurt rages on.

I can't seem to put him down in the bassinet during the day. The prince will only sleep on me or on a pillow.

And if he's not sleeping, he's eating. I actually got DH to try to put him down after his latenight feeding (which was a three-hour cluster feeding). DS wouldn't sleep in the bassinet, but did sleep on DH for a couple of hours and then moved to my chest and slept another two hours or so.

Do you feel like if LO is with you, then he knows he CAN eat, so he does, whether he needs to or not?

  • Every once in a while I think DS does but then he just munchs for a minute or two and is done.

  • DD was the same way for the first 2 months of her life.  She was also colicky and extremely fussy.  I tried feeding her anytime she was fussy, and she would eat.  Sometimes every hour.  I finally realized that she was eating for comfort, and not b/c she was hungry, and the overreating was contributing to her fussiness.  Now I comfort her with a paci instead of feeding her so often, and she's much happier.  Also, when she was 2 months she started liking her playmat & swing much more.

    GL!

Yes! I think babies smell your milk and it stimulates that instinct in them. I sometimes have to pass M off to DH because she is too focused on snacking rather than sleeping! LOL
