thoughts on walking shoes?

Our DS is walking everywhere now. in the house we use socks or his bare feet because he usually takes the socks off.

I am looking for something very soft and durable, preferably not bulky and that has nice modern styles.

what brands have you been using?

We just went to Stride Rite and they had the cutest shoes! I ended up getting 2 pairs. We got the softer rubber soled ones. They are lightweight and we only use them outside. Inside she wears socks, bare feet, or Bobux's.

I second stride rite. Also, Pedipeds are wonderful, although they can be a little pricey. I love that they are soft soled but look like a regular shoe.

i just got a new pair of robeez for ds. they are a little more structured than the slip on model, with more traction on the bottom, but flexible enough for the growing foot.

See Kai Run has a lot of what I would call modern styles. DS has 2 pairs. They're very cute and comfy. We got them on sale. Not sure if there are any sales right now.... www.seekairun.com

Re: in the house, if you want something less slippery than socks, DS has lived in these since he started crawling. They're from Sweden and they are awesome!
