what to do if suspect food allergy?

Beyond calling the pedi of course... dh and I think DS may have developed a rash on his arms and legs b/c of peaches since that is the only thing that changed today.  His temp is fine, and he is pretty much happy.  The rash isn't too bad. Are there other signs/symptoms of a food allergy?  Anyone have experience with this? Call is in to pedi - but the nighttime service can sometimes take awhile.  TIA!

There can be incredible variation of symptoms with food allergies.  They can range from the mild rash to not being able to breathe.  As long as he can breathe normally and is acting like himself, I wouldn't worry.

  • i would call the pedi to ask what to do.  if it's hives i think you can give benadryl, but i don't know if it's necessary.
