I was 33 weeks preg and went to my regular doctors apt. the girls @ work were saying that he didn't move that much. So I told the doc that he wasn't moving that much so she monitored me for 30 min and he old moved once. After that she wanted an Ultrasound and she was concerned about his heart beat it was very steady it didn't very any.So the doc wanted us to go across the street to the hospital.they where monitoring me for about 2 -3 hours and the nurse came in and was concerned that I had a contraction and wanted me to have 3 more with in a 10 min period. I had and then she wanted me to do it over. after 3 time doing this she came back in and was concerned b/c after some of the contractions his heart rate had dropped which meant that he was in distress. we live in a small town and there is no neonatal department. the doctor came in and said that he was talking to another hospital and they didn't' feel comfortable taking me by ambulance to that hospital and they didn't feel that they had 48 hours for me to have the steroid shot. there would be a 50% chance that they would transport him after birth to a different hospital that had a neonatal dept. 45 min later he was born. and only needed a little oxygen which meant he could stay @ that hospital. he was born 17 inches long 3 lbs 11 oz ten days later he got to come home. he is now over six weeks old and weights 6 lbs 12 oz. they said that I had fibroids on my placenta and that he wasn't getting enough nutrients. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so has anyone given birth after?
Re: Cooper's birth story
Wow! Glad to hear your little boy is doing okay now. Congrats! Sorry, I don't have any experience with this, I've never heard of fibroids on the placenta.
