What STDs keep you from having kids??

I am watching Maury and this 15 year old girl has them, whatever they are.  Is this stuff for real??

Re: What STDs keep you from having kids??

  • Not sure specifically which ones, but Yes there are STDs that can lead to infertility.
Married June '03. DS born Jan '09. DD born Feb '12. No, we didn't choose to be childless for the first 6 years, only the first 3.

  • Wow! I've been on the knot/nest/bump to long.  I couldn't understand why a "save the Date" could keep you from having kids.  I think PID (Pelvic inflammatory disease) can scar your tubes so badly an egg can't pass.
  • Untreated chlamydia or gonnorhea can cause infertility in women.

    this.

  • Some PID and other will scar your tubes and not allow for  coreect ovulation.  AIDS and other you can physically have chlidren but shouldnt.

Why do you say you shouldn't? There are drugs that prevent a mother from passing HIV to her baby.

  • My sister found out she was pregnant and after her pap found out that she has HPV and they wont treat it till after she has the baby and they said that she may not be able to have more children in the future.

um, you can have HIV and still have kids.  And the odds are in the kids favor on that one as far as it being passed on to them.

as far as HPV, I have it and well....I have Shane.

Right there are drung but I dont know any medical professional that woudl suggest an HIV + mother have a child.  It is meant to be used a preventative to pregnant women testing + not encouragement to have one.  Plus a 15 yo on maury especially if she has AIDS really shouldnt reproduce.
