It's bad when your drive home from work is more stressful than a 12 hour shift in an ICU. I nearly got killed by 3 different people, and saw far too many close calls for my own comfort. Apparently it's Take Your Idiot to Work Day. Also, I came home to dog puke. Maybe I should just go back to work...
Re: My drive home should not be the most stressful part of my day.
Monkey - I wish it was a nice long snooze. After I unwind for a few minutes here, it will probably be less than 5 hours...
Sare_bear - morning rush hour isn't usually too bad. I'm heading out of town while everyone else is going in. Apparently all the crazies were heading out of town this morning with me. It's actually worse heading IN to town in the evening, for some reason. It's odd.
My drive in to work was like that this morning. I have several highway merges on my way in and people clearly do not understand what the term "merge" means. It does not mean drive as fast as you can without looking to see if there is anyone in the lane next to you. Obviously this is the definition for the idiot in the white van that almost drove into the side of me this morning.
Glad you are home safe!
People are stupid.
Some jerk didn't realize that when I am exiting the freeway, I have right of way. He doesn't get to cut me off because he wants to get ON the freeway - let me get off first! Also, this guy passed another car on the (very narrow) shoulder and I cringed. The same guy then wouldn't let another car in, and he kept slamming on his brakes and swerving...but I had no way of going anywhere, so I had to slow to about 40 in a 65 to avoid getting hit! Obviously, nobody but me knew how to drive this morning!
Actually, sometimes I wish that both my car and I are invincible...so we could teach others a lesson!
geeze! I'm glad you are both safe!!
And why are there never any police around to see these things? It makes me crazy. The driving on the shoulder thing is definitely a pet peeve of mine. It happens a lot when I am driving home. I mean, we all have to sit in the traffic. Why do people think they are so special that they are entitled to drive somewhere other than the actual road?
Oh yes! It happens a lot at this one place where the highway is 2 lanes, and another lane is about to join. Instead of waiting until the lanes actually connect, they just drive on the shoulder for awhile and then hop into the other lane. The dumbest part about it is that, in this case, that lane ends and you are back where you started!
