How long after it was inserted did your doctor tell you it was effective?

First one: right away. Second one w/new doctor told me two weeks.

ummm, my doc said use back-up for six weeks. Of course I didn't listen and only used it for 3 weeks, and I'm not pregnant!!!!

my doc told me its effective immediately, but i havent gotten mine yet
