Babies: 0 - 3 Months

First Day Back at Work

I keep crying.  I miss the boys so much.  Also, I stopped pumping and am going to strictly formula, so my breasts hurt so bad.  I want people to stop coming in to hug me.  I can't take it.  Please tell me that this gets easier.  I want to hold my babies.

Also, how long did it take for your breasts to stop hurting so badly after stopping the pump.  I stopped as of Saturday night and it is so miserable.

Re: First Day Back at Work

  • It's my first day back too.... I've been crying since I pulled up to the daycare center with DS. I'm a total wreck. :( I miss DS SOOOOOO much. I just want to pick him up & hold him all day, like I usually do. I'm so heartbroken!!!!

  • It gets easier.  I went back to work at 6 weeks and the first week or two were the worst.  I would just stare at her picture on my computer and miss her.  Once I realized how much fun she was having at daycare (as much fun as a 2 month old can have) and how much I enjoyed being back at work doing stuff, it got easier.  Good luck!
  • I have no advice but you are not alone. This is my first day back to and I cried all morning. I am so leaving at noon. I cannot take it here!

  • hugs to you honey. it WILL get easier eventually.

cold packs for your breasts -- put some nipple pads in the freezer and then put them in your bra.

  • I'm sorry! I go back next monday and I am absolutely dreading it. My sister is watching DS so that gives me some comfort but I already know that I am going to miss him like crazy!

As for the boobs, mine hurt really bad for about 3 days, then it was about another 3-4 days before they stopped feeling like rocks. I just wore really tight sports bras and that seemed to help. Also lots of Ibprofen.?
