I'm going to be flying from Tulsa, OK to my parents in Tampa, FL in about 2 1/2 weeks--with my just-turned-two-month old--by myself (Husband can't go because of finances/work). I need to know what to expect, etc from moms who've flown by themselves with an infant before. I'm flying southwest so there's no assigned seats--I'm thinking I need to try and get a row to myself, or at least an aisle. I also plan to take my Graco travel set and check it at the gate--although I'm wondering how much of a pain it's going to be to drag around the car seat base? I formula feed, so I plan to buy a bottle of water once I get thru security for the formula to give him a bottle during take off/landing. Any other advice is much appreciated.
TIA!
Re: Advice!
When you check in, ask the SW employee if the flight is full- if it isn't, they'll let you bring your car seat on the plane.
FYI- the car seat base is NOT a necessity. You can use the car seat without it- I've never brought my base.
Check out this link for more information. I listed out a lot more info at the bottom of the link

I'm bringing the base for once I get to my parents to use--I'll need it there. Thanks for the link!
