we have Summer Day/Night picture monitor...love it! DS is always moving & talking in his sleep so its nice seeing him on the monitor to see if we can ignore or if we need to get him
sound only. its the sony bunch of numbers and letters or something like that.
because we live in a two bedroom condo and I can just get up and go look at him if I need to. i only think the video is useful if you are constantly going up and down stairs to check on them. the movement ones all seemed way over sensitive to me and giving off false alarms.

Video and sound. Summer brand. Love being able to be across the house and see her on the video screen...plus, I've been comfortable with her in her crib at night because any time she cries I can look over to the monitor and see what she is doing.
This one even tells you the temperature in the baby's room. I sleep well at night knowing if DS stops breathing, the monitor will beep. I have had one false alarm in 5 months. DS moved all the way to one side of the crib in the very corner. We used just the sound function in the beginning when he was younger. We test it periodically to ensure it is working properly too.
I wanted a video monitor at first, but I have learned to listen to him and just know what he is doing. Monther instinct I guess.
