3rd Trimester

When did you start washing baby clothes, etc.?

I'm 31 weeks and we already have a lot of things to wash. Is it too soon?

Re: When did you start washing baby clothes, etc.?

  • I started a few weeks ago, and still haven't finished. It takes SO long to fold everything since it's all so tiny. I thought I was going to go crazy on the day I did all of her socks.

  • I had my first shower last weekend and washed everything I have gotten up until now this week (I'm on spring break...what else am I going to do?) ?It took a long time though, taking all the tags off, separating them, folding them, etc. ?It's not too soon to start!

  • I washed as we received things.  I also just wash all of DD's things with ours and just use free and clear detergent.

  • Our daughter has been getting a steady stream of clothes for a while now.  I just wait until I have a pile and then wash them/put them away so we have space in her room for whatever else comes in.  Our shower is next week.

I started at 31 weeks, and I'm glad I did- I ended up in the hospital and then on bedrest at home at 33 weeks.  Since I have all of the newborn, 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes as well as the receiving blankets, bedding and towels/washcloths washed, I can at least relax about that!!

  • I started around 35 weeks.
  • i did a load a day after work last week and i finally finished two days ago.

i sat my big self down in her room yesterday and folded everything, which was really hard because everything is so tiny and all the different sizes and what not.

i would have been done putting everything away if mil/fil hadn't come over. Tongue Tied

  • Last week.

    ?

I only washed things i KNEW we'd use immediately, and I washed half of the 0-3 mos sized clothes. I don't want to take tags off of too many things until I know he will fit in them/need them.?

  • We've been doing things in stages.  I had my first shower about a month and a half ago and we did those.  Then my second shower was 3 weeks ago and we're just doing those today.  DH sorts and washes and I sit on the couch and fold.
  • I washed all newborn, 0-3, and 3-months clothes, blankets, bibs, towels and washclothes a few weeks ago.

I agree, I'm not washing ANYTHING except a few onsies and his coming home outfit until I know for sure what will fit him.

  • i started today - 4 loads so far.  i did everything we've received as gifts, but i'm waiting to do the stuff i bought for her until we get a little closer and have a better idea of what we need.  i don't want to take the tags off until i know for certain we will use them!
  • I washed everything between 35 - 37 weeks.  I'm done and everything is in it's place.
  • I started washing last week after one of our showers.

  • I like to have everything washed early but I always end up having to wash the stuff two or three times.  The kids get into it, or it gets dusty or some other reason.  But this time, I learned.....I bought Space Bags!  So I washed everything and filled them up about a week ago.  Everything is in them, the swing seat cover, all the washable parts from the co-sleeper, my Moby Wrap, etc.  So when she finally decides to make her appearance, everything will be clean and fresh and all I have to do is open the bags!
