My IL's insisted on coming to our house and cooking for us for Easter since they think the baby is too young to come to their house. On Monday, DH's father called and said MIL is sick and she they wont come if she is still sick at the end of the week. Tuesday she goes to the Dr. and they tell her its allergies - whatever. So today we get a call (while in the food store, while we are out running errands) and DH's father says they arent coming because his mom is still sick. I am assuming (because DH was on the phone and I was not) that they asked where we were and my DH said 'the food store." My DH gets off the phone and says "My parents are coming tomorrow because they say if we can be in the food store with the baby, then they can come tomorrow for Easter" WTF??? What is the rational behind this. What do I do now, I dont want them coming if MIL is sick, and she obviously felt bad enough to call and cancel in the first place. UGH!
Re: Seriously - WTF?
Tell your H to call them back and say they'd rather not have a sick person in direct contact with your LO.
That's just rude of them.
have H call them back and say they can't come. It is completely different to have a baby in a store in a carrier covered where she will not come into direct contact with other people then to have her grandmother at her house wanting to be hold her. I would not let this happen esp if DD was only 2 weeks.
When LO was 8 weeks my MIL and SFIL were very sick with the stomach flu. We cancelled a weekend trip to their house and my MIL was pi**ed. H told her to get over it and there was no way we were bringing the baby into a house full of germs.
