Ahhh IL invasion!

SIL is home from med school, so we invited her over to visit DS. I suggested that she come visit us (instead of us visiting her at her parents' house) because DS would be more relaxed without lots of people around, and she and DH could play Xbox and hang out.

Soooo.... She shows up with FIL, MIL, other SIL, other SIL's boyfriend. WTF, I did not invite these people! And they brought food for themselves and not us??? And it's 'the witching hour' for DS, so he's one second from screaming at any point. Of course DS freaked out after gamely being held by SIL and MIL, who of course took it personally (she thinks DS hates her). Then FIL goes 'oh let me take him' like that's going to help. So I basically hide upstairs with DS until he stops screaming and I can nurse him (MIL came upstairs to watch, uh ok), and then everyone leaves.

Now I have to do damage control and explain that I don't hate them, it was just a bad time. Plus we already HAD visitors today, and it was just too much and at the wrong time. Sigh. Vent over. These people are crazy.

    That happened to use when DD was a week old.  MIL said she was coming with her husband.  They ended up bringing 13 year old BIL, 18 year old SIL and her 2 year old who ended up sneezing right on my brand new baby.  That was a little much for me especially when we didn't know they were all coming.

    That wouldn't go over well! Hate is a strong word anyway, it's more of a strong dislike. They're all ok in small doses, and individually.

    Yes, they did this when DS was days old, because it was XMas. I put up with it because of the holidays, but at least I expected it then.

    The sneezing thing would drive me nuts - Both SILs are pretty young and drenched in cheap perfume. I don't even use baby products with fragrance in them, and now DS smells like a ho!
