3rd Trimester

F/U to pain and Pressure ( yesterday )

The nurse called me back yesterday and told me to go to the ER and go up to L&D. Since I wasn't sure if I was having contractions they wanted to monitor me. I leave work - scared b/c I wasn't sure what was going on / could happen. LO & I were monitored for almost 3 hours and I'm 3 cm dilalated and 75 % efaced, she already to go the nurse could feel her head.
I was having contraction but they were 5/7 or 12 mins a part - they were to irregular for them to keep me.
DR put me on bedrest BUT she said if LO came this early she would be fine. So instead of going on bedrest I'm going to try my hardest to have an easter baby :).
I'm still having little contractions but nothing to monitor. They are still real irregular.  I'm going to "reset the clocks" and clean like a mad woman.

Just wanted to update everyone... Hope everyone has a good easter weekend!!

  • I can understand wanting to have an Easter baby, but if your DR said bedrest, why would you go against it?

Yes, your baby would likely be fine at 35 weeks, but I wouldn't go against your dr's advice. My close friend had her baby last year at 35 weeks, and she was fed with a feeding tube for a week at 4lbs and stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks. Not exactly fun.

Let that baby cook as long as she's supposed to!! JMO!

  • Most likely your doctor was relaxing you that baby would be fine if she NEEDED to be born early.  I don't remember her telling you to try to speed up labor.  You might want to go to the preemie board and ask their opinion on 35 weekers.
