Books on basic infant/toddler care?

All my reading to date has been about pregnancy, what's happening week to week, etc.  But it occurred to me this morning that all that is going to continue to happen whether I read about it or not, and that maybe I should look into something that will help me keep the kid (at the very least) alive once it's here.  My sister was born when I was 10yo so I'm not a complete idiot about basic infant care...keeping the kid alive isn't rocket science but some thriving might be nice too :-)

Any book/website recs?

Re: Books on basic infant/toddler care?

  • My sister has 2 kids and she recommended "What to expect: The first year"  She said it was great.  I got it - I haven't read it yet though.
  • Loading the player...
  • I'm currently reading "Heading home with your newborn: From birth to reality" and I really enjoy it. Bought it used off of amazon.
  • The Baby Whisperer Solves All Your Problems.  Get it.Read it.Live it.Love it.
It made the experience of Bradyn's first year guess-free and happy for both him and my hubbin and I!

  • The Mother of All Baby Books is also an excellent resource on baby care.
