Ideas for student project or hand crafted shower gift?

I work with HS students and they want to throw me a shower/after school party before I go on leave in a few weeks.  I work mostly with low income students and my program can flip the bill for food and activity stuff.  I don't want my students to buy me gifts or feel like they have to bring something to the party, but I do feel it would be nice to share a shower with them.  I've known many of the students for years, and being my first child, it is fun for them too. 

Does anyone have an idea of a group project, craft, or homemade gift that the students could work on?  I can't think of anything, but I am sure there's got to be something that would turn out a nice memento for the baby's room.  There will probably be about 20 students.

    Maybe some pictures made from oil paints or something that would match the theme of your nursery? Or maybe they could create a story book you can read to your son when he's older? Or decorate a basket (in your nursery colors) for holding various baby things (like lotion, diapers, wipes, etc.) that you could store below or next to the changing table?

    A handmade book of bedtime stories written and illustrated by your students?

    What about having them decorate onesies or bibs?  You could get plain ones and fabric paint.  Or if you know any sewers, give each student a square of fabric to decorate and have someone sew them together for a blanket.

    I hosted a shower for a friend this past weekend and the onesie decorating was a really big hit!  Fabric pens and blank onesies are easy to find and it's an activity that will really let your students create something that is special to them.

    Ok, here are a few ideas...they could sign a matte for a picture to hang in the baby's room, decoupage (with the colors of your nursery) some plain wooden picture frames or paint wall letters in your baby's name, im drawing a blank now....but I think it's great that they want to share in the excitement and "shower" you with gifts and love.

    Another idea--let them do scrapbook pages for the baby (with spots to add pics later)  This might be good to have in addition to other crafts because it allows them to be creative without having to worry about talent/skill required for other projects.

    For women's history month, our art teacher had the students design a quilt based on women who have inspired them.

    On a twist, you could have each student design a quilt square on a piece of canvas and color it.  The square could be some words of wisdom for you or baby for the future.  You then could attach them together and hang them on baby's wall.
