IUI question: follie check

I am scheduled for my cd 11 follie check this Friday.  As I had 19 follies at cd3 I'm a little worried about having too many.  What do I need to look for on CD11 follie check?  What types of questions do I need to be asking?  I presume there is no way for them to confirm the number that will release upon trigger and while I'm skeptical about any success, I don't want an unhealthy number of multiples.  Thanks for your experiences.

Re: IUI question: follie check

  • Only mature follicles will be released with the trigger.  Most of those will not mature.  They are going to be looking for measurable follies at your u/s, not all those little tiny ones.  Good luck!

  • Its very rare to have all the CD3 follies make it to maturity unless you're on injectibles.  That just tells you that you have fabulous ovarian reserve.  CD11 will likely tell you how many follies are over 10 (which are the ones that have a chance to be mature at over 18), then they take E2 which will tell how many of those big follies are actually mature or not.  Are you on clomid or injectibles?   What they do next depends on that fact.
