bassinet/playard/crib use

I figured I would use the pack and play bassinet part in my room if we decide to have the baby in the room with us but now I'm thinking I will want that down stairs so do I register for a bassinet too? I really wanted to have the baby in her crib right off the bat but that may just be wishful thinking. What did you do?

We use the pack-n-play bassinet in our room for her to sleep at night right now. At first, I would bring the pack-n-play in the living room so she could nap in the same room with me, but now I leave the pack-n-play in our bedroom and she naps in there.

We used/use a bassinet in our room, and her crib in her room. Don't have a pack in play.

I registered for a crib, pack n play and a cradle. I have the cradle right nxt to my bed for the night time. THe crib is in the nursery and has not been used yet! I also have the pack n play, and we use it when we go places. i.e. this weekend we went to my parents cabin, and we set it up upstairs and he slept in it. However, I think if he grows out of hiis cradle soon, I might put the pack n play next to my bed, until I can get him to STTN.

We use the PNP in our room, have since day 1. I am hoping to start to transition M to his crib in his room this week.

DS's room is right next to ours, so he slept in his crib from day 1. We never had any problems, I just kept the video monitor on if I wanted to watch him.

Every time I see a post about moving from the parents room to their LOs room... I am very thankful we already have him in there.

Now, with that being said, if his room was downstairs/upstairs I would have had a PNP in our room for ease of feeding and changing. DS grew out of his bassinet at 1 month.

PacknPlay- living room for weeks 3-7.

Crib- his room 8+

We only have a crib, so she naps and sleeps at night in there. Someone had lent us a bassinet, but the first night home we found out she hated it (the pad was really thin, so I don't blame her!) We live in an apartment though, so we don't have stairs to go up and down. I wouldn't register for all three. If you don't mind walking to your child's room during the night, then I don't really see why you can't just have a crib.
