Babies: 9 - 12 Months

"I didn't know I was pregnant"

Turn on TLC. They're airing a bunch of shows profiling women that suddenly gave birth w/o realizing they were pg. WTF?! One of these women was super thin- was 110 at birth of baby. How do these women not have any symptoms? I got every single one!

  • i'm watching too. i've seen folks mention it on here before.  the one with twins was crazy.

  • I was watching it too but DH changed the channel and won't put it back on.  Did they explain how the 110 pound girl wasn't showing at all?

  • Yeah ok, even if I didn't "show" (what is this huge belly) and I really on did gain less than 15 pounds (I was big to begin with) I would have gone to the dr. and thought something was wrong!  First of all being sick and exhausted, what is it 12 weeks of the flu?  And when she started moving, WTF?  Is my stomach doing flips?  These women were in denial.  Seriously, what about peeing every hour during the last month?  It is crazy!
  • I don't get this. OK, I get that maybe you have irregular cycles, so that might throw you for a loop. I get that maybe you don't gain a lot of weight. What I don't get, does it not strike you as odd when something starts to move inside your tummy?

  • I am watching and all I can think is if you have the parts and are doing it, it doesn't matter if you are overweight, have irregular cycles or were told 25 years ago that you were infertile, you can still get ku.  One on the show felt movement but passed it of as gas.

  • People's stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
  • And pleez - these reenactments are fine but these babies are like 5 mos old.  Just don't show em'.
  • I don't understand it either. My SIL is pg and due at the end of May. She didn't know she was pg until she was 5 months and the only reason she knew was b/c she went to the dr. for troubles w/ peeing. They did a pg test just in case, and it was +. She claims she had her period the whole time. I know some women still bleed during pregnancy, but I can't believe that she still bled every month when it was time for her normal period AND that her period was just like it had always been.

She said she wasn't sick or tired back in Aug/Sept (after she got pg).

  • I could never be on that show. I have the Mirena and I swear I think every gas bubble/upset stomach/tiredness/mood swing is a baby. And to make t worse,I haven't a period since I got the damn thing. I have POAS more in the last year then I ever did when I was trying to get pregnant!! :) Wishful thinking on my part maybe, but I just can't see how you can have NO idea that there's something going on!!

  • they don't notice the symptoms because of a very common disease called...DENIAL!
  • I am actually the product of this... my mom lost weight the entire time... there were some things she thought were odd but after being told by 6 sets of drs she couldnt have kids she didn't think she was pregnant... she thought it was from her thyroid issues.

She went to the Hospital because she thought she was having appendix issues.... needless to say I was born via c-section w/in the hour full term.
