Just had shockingly OK experience at BRU

I was expecting the worst after reading so many horror stories! 

My students threw me a surprise shower on Friday, and they said there was a crib and bedding waiting for me at BRU.  DH and I debated about whether it was okay to wait to go get the stuff (we were both tired), and I reasoned that more things could go wrong the longer we left things sitting there with only our last name attached, no receipt, etc.

We got there and (1) were told you're supposed to have an appointment in order to pick things up (really?!  How come we didn't know that?!) and (2) that they weren't sure where the crib was and (3) that they knew nothing about a mattress.  But the woman and her manager ran around fact-finding, and soon they discovered a stamped envelope addressed to us with the gift receipts in there, including for the mattress which had to be special ordered.  So then they ran around finding us the crib, helping us figure out whether it would fit in our car, and just being all around helpful.  Hopefully when we go back to get the mattress, we'll have a good experience too, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

And while I was there I attached my rewards card to my registry, thanks to everyone's advice.

Perhaps there's hope for this company after all!

  • i find that my stuff on registry isnt going onto my rewards..even though I had them put it on...but I really havent had anything bad happen yet there either

  • Must depend on the individual store...I've had no problem with the one near me, and I've returned things and picked up things we ordered.

  • My students are great!  These are seniors, too, who should be having major bouts of senioritis, but they planned this whole special thing with a slideshow, etc., and I seriously started sobbing in front of the whole school I was so touched.  My last day is Tuesday, and I feel massively guilty.

  • I do ok at our BRU too...they've been good about returns with very little questions asked so no complaints yet...knock on wood.
  • What great students. ?We haven't had an issue at our BRU yet. Anything that we know of that's been purchased has come off the registry and when I bought stuff for a friend of mine her stuff came off of her's.
  • What a great gift - congrats.

    I've done okay at the 2 BRU's near me - no issues with the registry or returns.
