Today the OB nurse and the recptionist said the doc doens't do u/s every 4 weeks for twins. I hope they are just confused! (I haven't see the doc yet).
Even though I was under 30 and my girls were conceived naturally, my OB sent me to a perinatologist who specialized in multiples for my U/S. Her view was you can NEVER be too cautious when it comes to delivering babies and I agree!
I had an U/S every 4 weeks until 20 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 28 weeks, then every week thereafter until I was induced at 36 weeks to the day. I stopped counting after 12 U/S, but it sure was awesome getting to see my little love bugs so often!! Totally worth the copays!
My OB saw me every 3 weeks or so until 18 weeks then every 2 weeks til 28 weeks and now every week. I also have NST's and AFI's twice weekly. I also agree, if they are more then 4 weeks apart I would find a new OB. I have a very cautious OB and that works well for me.
I have quick u/s at every OB visit just to check to make sure that both babies' hearts are beating(which started at every 3 wks, now every 2 wks). Then I have growth scans every 4 weeks at the MFM.
My OB automatically referred me to a peri with my twins and he did growth u/s every 4 weeks throughout my pregnancy. MY OB also did a quick u/s at my monthly check-in's because it was easier to find the heartbeats than with the doppler. I would definitely either look for a new OB who will monitor you more closely, or find a peri to co-manage your care.
My MFM doesn't do them very often at the end, but I go for NST's every week, so we are well monitored. I think the last few have been 4-5 weeks apart, but when he had a concern, he did one 2 weeks after the first.
I would have liked to get them more often, but if he's not concerned, I'm not either I guess!

I have one every three weeks right now, then I will switch to every two weeks pretty soon, and I will also switch to weekly earlier than I did with my singleton.

I had a ton of US in the begining but only bc I had been in the hospital with kidnehy infections. I'd have four by the time I was 9w, I had one every three days from 12w-15w in the hospital. I had hyper-emesis and was being seen twice a week by IV team nurses, and once every 2wks by my OB until I was 24w. Had I not been so sick, I would have had them every four weeks until about 28w.
I had a dating ultrasound when I was 9 weeks because that is when I found out I was pregnant, but the didn't have one until 20 weeks for the big ultrasound... at that point they scheduled u/s for every 3 weeks until the end of the pregnancy... at about 32 weeks we started weekly NSTs
but I have had a fairly uneventful pregnancy and still have not had contractions or anything.. and am still working so I think I am in the minority as far as my pregnancy...
Right now, I go every 4 weeks. ?I just went Wednesday and go back on the 30th when I'll be 22 weeks. ?I don't know if my schedule changes at that point though. ?
I thought originally, we would be seeing a peri, but my only 'risk' making me high-risk is having twins and my OB's office specializes in handling high-risk pregnancies - so unless I had other risk factors like maybe blood pressure issues or whatever, I will just continue with my OB alone.?
Re: u/s every 4 weeks w/ twins, right?

Surprise! due 2/23/17
My OB does a quick heartbeat and fluid check at every appt. He started 2 week appts at 30 weeks and weeklies just this week at 36 weeks.
He referred me to MFM at 20 weeks and they saw me every 4 weeks until 32 weeks when they started weekly biophysicals.
I staggered my appts so I basically saw one or the other every 2 weeks. I'm really happy with the way they have handled my care and worked together.
