7wk old sleeping TONS today!

My DS is 7 weeks old today, he's been a tough cookie these past 7 weeks... colic, reflux, hardly sleeping at all (maybe 8-10 hrs in each 24 hour period). I'm obviously exhausted and was having mini-breakdowns from not being able to soothe him. I really felt hopeless at times like he might never ever sleep or be a happy baby.

 Well, last night he slept one 4.5 hour stretch! That's the longest ever, by far (3 hours was his previous record). Then he slept another hour overnight, took a 2 hour nap this morning, and I just hear him starting to wake up from another 1.5 hour nap in his swing. The times he's been awake he's been mostly calm and cheerful, just a little bit of "normal" fussiness. It's glorious!

Of course, now I think something is terribly wrong with him since he's not his normal fusspants self. I suppose I should just enjoy it, right? :)

    Absolutely enjoy it. I hear that during 5-6 weeks they have alot of mental development and i know with my DD she is really starting to enjoy her alert time and be much more curious. Maybe his body is just starting to mature. Their little stomachs have to be mature enough to digest .. etc.. to be able to sleep for a long time. So congrats! Im hoping he will continue being so happy for you!
