  • Good question.  My son has one, and at 2.5 months, it hasn't faded at all.

We call it an Angel Kiss, though.  Wink

  • My pediatrician said that it could fade with time, but that it may not go completely away and that when DD gets hot, mad, etc it could show up more.  My DD has one on the back of her neck at the bottom of her hairline and I think it is the cutest thing.  I think it is angel kisses if it is on the face and stork bites if it is anywhere else.  I dont know about that part though!
  • I didn't know about them until DS had a stork bite on the back of his neck. Then I noticed one on the back of the neck of a 30 year old guy (he was conducting a small musical group, so maybe he was nervous?). I don't mean to worry you that it won't fade by saying that.  I assume it will.

  • Our pedi said they usually go away by the 1st birthday but sometimes they are there to stay.  DS has very light blonde hair so his is noticeable but its not too bad.  It does get more red if he cries or gets upset.

I've heard about a year or so too. The ones on the front of the face may fade, but I've also heard the ones on your scalp tend to stay there (but then of course the hair grows in and covers it).

DD has one on her eyelid and a few on the back of her head.

  • My friend has an 18 month old with one that falls right between her eyes. It goes from the top of her forehead to the bridge of her nose. It has kind of spread out with time (essentially, grown proportionally with the rest of her) and has faded some as a result, but its still very noticeable.

  • Our doc said they usually fade around 6 months, and then disappear between 12 and 16 months.  You normally won't see any color change for the first 6 months.

  • DH has a couple on the back of his head that are still there, although his hair covers them.

DD has two in the same exact spot.
