Quad screen results

my dr. just called and said I had elevated risk for downs and she's referred us for a level 2 u/s.

From what I've read there seem to be alot of false positives, but of course I'm freaking out.

Please keep us in your t&p that everything will be ok.

((hugs)) it's impossible not to worry, so I won't tell you not to, but it's true that it's much more likely that it's "false" than "true".

I also don't know what the normal range is as it seems there are different cut off points to what is normal and what is abnormal. My dr. said that 1/295 was normal and below that is at risk. Our numbers were 1/148 which still seems high to me, but has still none the less freaked me out.

I've had many friends who have had elevated results and everything turned out fine. From my understanding, there's a much higher %age of "false positives" with the quad screen. Regardless, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and keep us posted on your u/s!

Thanks girls. I'm just trying to get through the day today waiting on my dr. to call me to tell me when my u/s is scheduled for. Hopefully it'll be soon, b/c I don't know if I can handle a week of waiting.
