How much does your 10-11mo old drink from sippy?

Re: How much does your 10-11mo old drink from sippy?

  • Right now, he's usually only interested in his sippy at meals (we only have water in the cup for now). We have one for him when he's playing in the living room, but he doesn't go to it on his own, we have to 'remind' him of it. With that being said, he may go through 2-3 oz. at each meal. Plus, we still give him 3 6-8oz bottles of formula each day.

  • during a meal?  maybe 2 or 3 oz.  throughout the day he probably drinks 10 oz. total from his sippy cup.
  • Not much.  At meal times, they usually take a few sips and then they become flying objects :).  And they prefer cold water from the Brita - go figure.
  • DD loves her sippy after meals and snacks.

She still takes formula from a bottle before bedtime.

  • SenoraKristin your DD only has one bottle? That is great!

I am in the process of starting to get DD to transition from bottle to sippy. DD is on the Next Step formula and was drinking 4 6oz bottles per day.  Yesterday I gave her 2 6oz bottles and 1 8oz bottle before bedtime.  I substituted the one bottle in the afternoon with a sippy of formula.  I would say with that and the water she probably drinks about 10-12 ozs of liquid from sippy per day.  Everyday she gets better at it.

  • She'll drink 1/2 to a full sippy cup of water or a water/juice mix in a day.
