It will, but it isn't really necessary. It takes FOREVER (2 hours) on our LG .... and honestly, I find that if I'm going to use a stinking LONG cycle, the "Babywear" cycle works better at cleaning the diapers.
I do a cold rinse, hot normal wash and it takes a little under an hour from start to finish and it also uses much less energy.

Good to know, I was kinda hoping it wouldn't take that long each time.
We have an LG and usually used the normal setting but changed the wash temp to hot and added an extra rinse. But for about the past month have been using the sanitary cycle with pre wash (no detergent) and extra rinse cycle. It takes about 2 hours 15 minutes I think. We started using that due to the diapers sitting longer, when she was younger we washed everyday now we do every other so there is at least one poopie diaper that has been sitting for a day. My diapers look pretty awesome, no stains, no stink, no repeling. Also, we do all our diapers at once so eventhough it takes so long it's only 1 load of wash and they dry quick so in about 3 hours all the diapers are clean.

I use about 2 tablespoons, enough to line the bottom of the lid, of detergent. I use Sun and Earth. Only put it in the wash cycle. Don't use any at all in the prewash.
I've read in several places that using the sanitary cycle on a regular basis will wear your diapers out faster because of the intense heat of that cycle. It can cause the PUL in pockets to crack sooner and the elastic in fitteds and pockets to break down. Just an fyi.
