Hi friends! I am almost a member of the 2nd tri

I am curious-- at what week did you find out the sex of your baby? I am having my very first u/s later this week (at 12w, 2d) but I was wondering about how much longer I had to go before gender could be determined. I'm sure this gets posted a lot, but oh well-- if ya don't know, ask! Thanks!

I believe at least 16ish weeks. Most Drs won't do anything until 18-20 though.

Obviously I don't know yet. I am just going off of what I've seen on the boards.

I have an u/s this Friday (18w4d), and hope to find out then. If not, it will be at almost 22 weeks.

Its usually at the big ultra sound, ranging anywhere from 18wks to 20wks. (some people have them after 20 wks I think depnding on scheduling and such)

I go next Thursday so I'll be 18w5d. Well...hopefully we find out the sex then!

We could have found out during our anatomical u/s at 19 weeks, 3 days.

Most people find out after the 18th week! I think you can find out a little bit earlier if you do amnio tests. Every Dr. is different so you might just want to ask yours when they do that u/s. Mine didn't want to do it until 22 weeks, but she recommended a place called Stork Vision who could tell me at 18 weeks & I'm HIGHLY impatient so that is when we found out.

Some sonographers will give you a *guess* at 12 weeks. Mine didn't, but I know some ladies who have gotten accurate predictions that early. That said, my gender u/s is on the 20th - 20 weeks.

19 weeks and 5 days. Usually people don't find out until between 18-20 weeks

I had mine in week 18. I don't think they can really tell gender on u/s until around 16w.

Lurking might be a good option, too...

we are not finding out the sex of the baby, but I asked my OB if it was possible to see it at 12-13 weeks and she said it was very unlikely - but not impossible. A lot of girls here actually found out that early, but again, it is very unlikely...

We tried to find out at our u/s at 20 weeks. ?However, baby wasn't cooperative, so we have had to wait another month. ?We go again tomorrow - 24 weeks.

At 14 weeks 5 days the tech said, "It looks like a boy, but its still early". ?It was confirmed at 16 weeks 5 days.

Mine was originally scheduled for 23-1/2 wks, but ended up having it at 20-1/2 wks cuz I was having some horrible pain. My office typically won't do them until you're at least 20 wks. At first I thought it sucked waiting that long, but I figured if we waited, there would be less guessing!

Ask your doc's office when you go this week. Enjoy your first u/s!
