i'm full of questions today! bloat vs. bump

I feel like today my "bloat" is much less "bloat" and more bump. Does that EVEN make sense? Bloating hurts and is uncomfortable. Today I have none of that (and honestly, have had a great day so far in terms of my bathroom visits so I'm pretty empty - TMI, sorry).

I am 8 weeks - I know it's not a true bump, so why does it seem like it is today? Maybe I am imagining things!!!

Anyone else have days like this so early on?

Hmmm...my bloat has never hurt so I can't help you on that. There are days when it feels harder than others but it goes back to being softer-which proves it's just bloat. I can now feel the top of my ute and the bloat is all above it so I know that the part of my stomach protruding is still bloat-it's above my ute.

For me, the bump began when I'd lay down and my tummy below my belly button felt hard. I could also start seeing my heartbeat move my tummy.

Now that you say your bloat never hurts - I'm wondering if I'm mixing bloat with gas/general gas discomfort. They can technically be two different things, right? I've honestly had a lot of painful/nagging gas on a daily basis, and today I haven't had any, so maybe now it's just bloating.

i have the same question because sometimes i think its a little bump and sometimes i think im bloated i'm 9 weeks now and people are telling me i should start having a little bump but i'm not sure how to tell them apart

My bloat is definately uncomfortable. All the extra gas in my intestinse and my uterus the size of a grapefruit pushing everything up...I can't wait for that to go away and my belly to be flat again except for the bump thats gradually forming under my belly button.

Do not listen to those people. If this is your first, you can't have a bump until you're around 12 weeks. Your ute is still behind your pubic bone-it's not possible.

My upper abdomen is very uncomfortable some days - right above my belly button feels like it's totally squished. I have not read much about what's going on with my "organs", really just the changes taking place in my uterus, so I'm wondering if that squished feeling is everything beginning to be pushed up...

I hear it all the time now from my friends & family... IS THAT A BUMP I SEE!? And I always just say NOPE probably just a bloat bump that comes and goes. I'm starting to feel more stretching, so I also throw in that I might be swollen. It is cute though that the DF sleeps with his hand on my belly pretending it's a baby bump.

Some of what I've had isn't bloat - it's just plain fat. It's not baby yet, but I am certainly fatter than I was a few weeks ago

Yesterday I kind of felt like my baby bloat was deminishing, but it seems to be back in full force today! So uncomfortable and feel like I'm 20 lbs over weight!!

I have a friend who had a bump at 5 weeks because she was very thin! You can have a bump before 12 weeks!!! Everyone is different...

My bloat is around and slightly below my belly button (looks like a spare tire). At exactly 12 weeks along, I noticed a slight second bump that is right above the pubic bone. I can feel the second bump better when I'm standing, it seems to sink back down a little when I'm laying on my back. It's definately baby because it wasn't there last week. Pretty exciting!!!
